Karlheinz Stockhausen


Although I post mostly indie rock and such on this blog, I feel like I should start putting other things up that I listen to on a regular basis, so this is where im starting. A brilliant 20th century composer by the name of Karlheinz Stockhausen that made a fusion of classical, avant-garde, and electronic music (which has had impact on everyone from Sonic Youth to Bjork). He started experimenting with electronic equipment in the 60's when it became available to him. Like John Cage, he could make music out of virtually anything - the true definition of a composer in the 20th century. Here are two tracks from his 1970 album "Mantra." Enjoy
